How long should I complete my graduate courses?

At the end of four semesters, students who fail to successfully complete the credit courses and the seminar course are dismissed from the institute where they are enrolled (see Official Gazette No: 30520 dated 29.08.2018 and Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Graduate Education and Training Regulation).

What is the most recent date for graduate graduation?

The education period of the students enrolled before the 2016-2017 fall semester ends as of the end of the spring semester of 2018-2019.

The period of education for students enrolled in the 2016-2017 fall semester is four semesters regardless of whether they have registered for each semester, starting from the period in which they are enrolled in the program they enrolled in, and the program is completed in six semesters at most. (See Official Gazette No. 30520 dated 29.08.2018, Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Graduate Education and Training Regulation).

When should I enter the PhD qualifying exam?

Students are required to take the proficiency exam at the end of the fifth semester and at the latest at the end of the fifth semester, provided that they have successfully completed their courses, seminars, credits and ECTS credits.

When should I report the thesis name and thesis position to the institute?

In postgraduate education; The thesis subject determined by the thesis advisor together with the student is suggested to the institute by the department and the program presidency until the end of the second semester at the latest.

In his/her doctorate; The thesis title, thesis topic and thesis follow-up committee should be submitted to the institute within one month at the latest.

Upon successful completion of the Doctoral Qualifying Exam, the student advocates orally, within six months at the latest, the thesis proposal covering the purpose, method and study plan of the research to be conducted. The student distributes a written report about the thesis proposal to the committee members at least fifteen days before the oral defense and submits the document with the signatures to the institute before the oral defense.

On which dates should interim reports be given?

The student whose thesis proposal is accepted is subjected to an interim evaluation by the thesis committee every year between January-June and July-December.

The first thesis follow-up report to the student thesis monitoring committee and six months after the thesis proposal was approved by the institute board; at the end of every six months following the follow-up, the thesis shall be submitted in written form one month before the meeting date and shall be defended orally at the meeting.

Students who fail two times in a row or three times in a row, are dismissed from the Institute. A student who does not present or defend his / her report within the term is considered as a failure.

When should I have the TURNITIN scan?

When your thesis is completely finished and ready for submission, you must send it to the TURNITIN scan. You cannot make any changes afterwards.

Where can I contact my institute TURNITIN responsible faculty and e-mail addresses?

Thesis plagiarism reports are performed by the TURNITIN responsible for each faculty / department. These are the faculty members appointed by the institute for Engineering, Health and Educational Sciences. The list of responsible lecturers and contact information can be found on the web page of the institute.

How many copies of theses should I print out?

First of all, it is sufficient for you to write a thesis in order to enter the board meeting, or to write in spiral form and to submit the other thesis defense exam documents (Doctoral Forms / Thesis Delivery Documents)
